Comparative analyses of narcotics

The narcotics section at the Section of Forensic Chemistry offers comparative analyses of various types of narcotics. The result of a comparative analysis is a statement of the likelihood of the samples examined originating from the same production batch. Some of the analyses are performed by the section's international partners.

The following types of narcotics are compared

  • Amphetamine (harmonised method including international searches used as of July 2007)
  • Cocaine
  • Heroin
  • Cannabis (external partner)
  • Ecstasy (comparison of both tablet excipients and active ingredient, external partner)
  • Methamphetamine (external partner)
